For the love of Darren...

This precious little boy is the same age as our Aiden...and there is just something about him that tugs at my heart...

His name is Darren...

He was born September of 2007, Darren is significantly delayed cognitively and physically.   He is typically a content child.  He is able to stand, but only with help.   Physical therapy and surgery can do wonders for him.   He is facing transfer this year, and will remain bedridden for life if he is not adopted.

Bedridden...for the REST of his life!!

Dear God, please don't let this be sweet Darrens fate...

From a family who met him in late 2012:

"He is gentle with others.  When he is upset or overwhelmed, he often does ‘self-stim’ movements such as hand writhing or vocalizations.  He listens and follows very basic directions from his caregivers.  I have also observed him to be content to sit still and people watch as well as engage in quiet, exploratory play on their small jungle gym.  He walks with just a little bit of help. I have noted a developmental delay in all areas which is a natural occurrence with a child who has either congenital or environmental trauma to his central nervous system and has been institutionalized. Darren is affectionate.  He would love to have a mother and a father.  I’m sure he would also adore any siblings from what I saw of his interaction with others in his room."

Darren has 6 months...

6 MONTHS before this....

becomes his life....he will remain bedridden for the REST of his life if he is not adopted. It is a very sad, heartbreaking truth...

I can see such light in this sweetheart. He WANTS to learn....he WANTS to be loved...he has so much to give.....

Is he your son??

Could you make room at your table for just one more??...

Can you save this precious child of God??

He is deserves to be loved...

As I spend my evening praying for this little boy I also pray that God will speak to you through his eyes...he could be YOUR son!!

  1. Hello. We adopted a blind child from China almost 2 years ago. He was 3 1/2 at the time of his adoption. He is delayed, but has made amazing progress now that he is in the US. We admire your courage and will keep you and your family in our prayers!
